Passport and visa photo questions
Questions
Is the photo check free?
Yes. Upload a photo and see every check (head size, eye line, background, lighting, focus, file size) for free, without signing up. You only pay if you want to download the finished file.
What do I get when I pay?
A one-time payment gets the photo cropped and sized to the official spec: a digital file ready to upload for US$9.99 in the US, or the file plus a 4×6 print sheet for US$12.99.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The photo is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. pixtidy does not retouch your face or change the background.
What if my photo is rejected?
If an official rejects a photo our checker marked as passing, email us for a full refund.
Can I use a photo I already have?
Often yes, if it meets the document's size and head-height rules; online forms like the DS-160 need a digital file. Guide: using a photo you already have
How much is it for a family?
The family option covers up to 5 people for the same document for US$19.99, with a 4×6 print sheet for each person on printed documents. For a family of four, US passport photos cost about US$60–68 at USPS or Walgreens. Compare prices
Can a law firm or visa agency use pixtidy for clients?
Yes, one photo at a time or with the family option (up to 5 people for the same document). A team plan with one prepaid photo pack shared by your firm is planned; you can request early access at https://pixtidy.com/teams.
Why does the price depend on the country?
The price is set by the country you pay from: the digital file costs US$9.99, US$5.99 or US$2.49. The price you see before paying is the price you pay, as a one-time payment.

Applying as a family? Every person, babies included, needs their own photo. A green card (Form I-485) needs two identical photos per applicant; a US visa (DS-160) needs one per family member. The family option covers up to 5 people for the same document, and for printed documents it includes a 4×6 print sheet for each person. For a family of four, US passport photos cost US$60–68 at USPS or Walgreens, versus US$19.99 for the family option plus 4×6 printing. Family photo rules · Compare prices · For law firms and agencies
