›What size is a UK ETA photo?

It is a digital photo with no set print size. There is no official head-size number; we frame the head at 40%–55% of the photo height so the head and shoulders are clearly visible. Digital file: JPEG, 50 KB – 6 MB. pixtidy exports 1200×1500 pixels, inside the official limits.

›What photo do I need for a UK ETA?

If you apply online you upload a photo of your passport and a photo of your face. GOV.UK says the face photo must follow the rules for digital photos of faces: at least 600 pixels wide and 750 pixels tall, a JPG between 50 KB and 6 MB, against a plain light-coloured background. If it does not meet the rules, the application may be delayed or rejected.

›Do I need to upload a photo if I apply for an ETA on the app?

No. On the UK ETA app you use your phone's camera to scan your passport and your face. You need a photo file when you apply online, for example when the person you are applying for is not with you.

›Does pixtidy apply for the ETA for me?

No. pixtidy only makes and checks the face photo. You apply yourself on GOV.UK or the UK ETA app, where an ETA costs £20; GOV.UK warns that other websites may charge more.

›Can I take a UK ETA photo at home with my phone?

Yes. Ask someone to take it from about 1–1.5 m away at eye level, in daylight, in front of a plain, light-coloured wall (light grey works well). Face the camera with a neutral expression and no glasses. Upload it here and we crop, size and check it for you.

›Why do photos get rejected?

The most common reasons are: head too small or too large, shadows on the face or background, wrong background colour, glasses or glare, a tilted head, blur, and photos edited with filters or AI. Our checker tests each of these before you pay.

›Do you edit or retouch my face?

No. Officials reject photos altered with filters or AI, so we only crop, level and resize. We never change your face or replace the background.

›Is my photo uploaded to your servers?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device and we never store it.

›What if my photo is rejected?

If an official rejects a photo our checker marked as passing, email support@pixtidy.com and we refund you in full.
