Walgreens passport photo cost (2026): $16.99 for two prints

What do you get for $16.99?

Prices checked: October 2026.

The package covers having your picture taken and receiving the printed and emailed copies. A digital copy on a USB drive costs extra. If email is the format you want, it is already included with your purchase.

You can verify the package on Walgreens' official passport photo page.

Choose the in-store service when you want a store associate to take your picture. Choose DIY printing when you have your own image and will prepare the print sheet yourself.

Do you need an appointment, and how long does it take?

No appointment is needed. Walgreens offers passport photos in-store at most locations.

Walgreens says printed photos are typically ready in a few minutes. The same page also says "one hour or less."

1. Check your chosen location. Passport photo service is available at most Walgreens stores, not every store.

2. Visit without booking an appointment. You need to be there for the associate to take your picture.

3. Allow for the stated timing. Walgreens describes a few minutes as typical, with "one hour or less" also listed.

Walgreens says its passport photos cannot be ordered online.

Can Walgreens take baby and child passport photos?

Yes. Walgreens offers passport photos for all ages, including babies and children.

If you want an associate to take your child's picture, use the in-store passport photo service. You do not need an appointment, but check that your chosen location offers the service before heading there.

If you prefer to take your child's picture yourself, the DIY route below uses your own image.

Can you print your own passport photo at Walgreens?

Yes. You can prepare a 4×6 passport photo sheet and use Walgreens' ordinary photo printing service. Walgreens Same Day Pickup prints, including 4×4 and 4×6 formats, start at $0.29.

A correctly laid-out 4×6 sheet holds six 2×2 photos.

How do you prepare and print a DIY sheet?

1. Check your own photo before preparing the sheet. pixtidy, our product, offers a free browser check for head size, eye line, background, and lighting. Your photo never leaves your device. The check does not guarantee acceptance.

2. Decide how you will prepare the files. If you use pixtidy's paid option, you receive a digital photo and a 4×6 print sheet to print yourself. Check current pixtidy prices when budgeting. The free check and the paid files are separate options.

3. Use a 4×6 layout containing six 2×2 photos. Follow the passport photo 4×6 printing guide for the layout.

4. Order the prepared sheet through ordinary photo printing.

Walgreens' starting print price covers printing.

Which DIY details are easy to get wrong?

Online printing and online passport photo ordering are different. Walgreens says you cannot order its passport photos online.

Passing a photo check is not an acceptance guarantee. pixtidy's check lets you review the specified image features before printing, but it does not guarantee acceptance. Do the check before you prepare and print the sheet, while you are still reviewing the image.

How does Walgreens compare with USPS and doing it yourself?

Choose based on the work you want done for you. Walgreens' in-store price includes photo-taking and the specified printed and digital copies. DIY printing starts with an image you provide, so you handle preparation before paying for the print.

USPS charges $15 for a passport photo at participating Post Offices, according to its June 2025 newsroom announcement.

A sheet with six photos gives you more printed copies than the Walgreens package, but preparing that sheet is a separate task from having an associate take your picture.
