Google Play screenshot requirements (official)
- JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha
- Each side between 320 px and 3,840 px; the long side no more than twice the short side
- Up to 8 screenshots per device type; at least 2 across device types to publish
- For large-format recommendations: at least 4 screenshots, 9:16 portrait at 1080×1920 or more (or 16:9 landscape)
- Taglines no more than 20% of the image; no "Best", "#1", "Free", "New", "Sale" or calls to action
- Feature graphic: 1024×500, JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha

What screenshot sizes does the App Store require in 2026?
For iPhone apps you need 6.9" screenshots (1320×2868, 1290×2796 or 1260×2736 portrait) or, if you don't provide those, 6.5" (1284×2778 or 1242×2688). If your app runs on iPad you also need 13" screenshots (2064×2752 or 2048×2732). Smaller displays are scaled from these. You can upload 1 to 10 screenshots per size, as JPG or PNG, with no alpha channel or transparency.
What are the Google Play screenshot requirements?
JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha, each side between 320 and 3,840 px, and the long side no more than twice the short side. To be eligible for Google Play's large-format recommendations, apps need at least four screenshots at 1080 px or more: 9:16 portrait (1080×1920 or larger) or 16:9 landscape. Taglines should take up no more than 20% of the image.
Why does App Store Connect reject my screenshot?
The most common reasons are a size that isn't exactly on Apple's list (even a few pixels off), a PNG with an alpha channel or transparency, or the wrong orientation for the display. This tool only exports Apple's listed sizes as JPEGs, which have no alpha channel.
Which words should I avoid in Google Play screenshots?
Play Console asks developers not to use performance, ranking, price or promotional claims such as "Best", "#1", "Top", "New", "Free", "Discount" or "Sale", and not to add calls to action such as "Download now" or "Install now". The generator flags these words in your captions.
